Welcome to my first blog on our new website! As of July of 2024 our website has been around for about 9 months, which means basically you can now book directly on-line, saving yourself the booking fees, for our return guests this has been a long requested option. Our business has been around for about 13 years, so we have some "sperience" as my grandsons would say! Stu and I find, design, gut, renovate, decorate, manage, market, take the bookings and have you on our phones, 24/7. You deal with us, not a management team.
We are Cathy & Stu Scheller, that is why the name has a "C" in the Schells, so many of you have asked. Our life has been chaos, since the moment I saw Stu across the room, we fell in love at first sight. We married six months later in 1980, conceived our first child on our Honeymoon (at the Holiday Inn in Jacksonville, IL). Humble beginnings taught us a thing or two about value for your dollar! Vacations were all spent with family members that would take our semi-large family in. We had 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl within 5 1/2 years. Our family has grown with 1 SIL, and 3 DIL'S delivering 12 grandchildren that have taken our breath away. That takes our family of date, to a total 22! The need for places to renew, relax and reconnect has taken on a whole new meaning.
This is act 2 for us. We are"retired" from our former careers and are now running our own Vacation Rental Business.
We currently live in Cincinnati OH, but our children are located all around the USA. Why does any of this matter you ask? Well.... because we personally understand the monumental importance of having amenities at your vacation spot: bicycles, kayaks, shampoo, laundry soap, etc, etc. Stu and I get how meaningful time away with your family is, how crucial it is to take time to connect or reconnect with family that is living away from you. Those vital friendships and important dates need to be celebrated with friends and family in a spot where everything is clean, well designed, beautifully appointed and yet affordable. A getaway should be a retreat, not a couch or a spare bedroom in your Aunt's living room.
What would we give to go back and re-create those moments in time with our young children? This has been a discussion we have had from time to time. Unfortunately we cannot do that... but we have however, designed and created amazing spots to do just that going forward! We have created retreats to recreate new memories with our children, and grandies! Places to return year after year.
With 7 homes in Cape Coral, FL we can gather in one house or spread the family out within either walking distance, kayaking distance or a bike ride away. We have 7 homes from large homes to small cottages all on a body of water, with pools, spas and oh... so many amenities. We treat you like you are our family, only I am not your Aunt, you do not need to sleep on the couch! Get to know our homes, check out our reviews, they say it all. With our Family Home in Cincinnati, our beloved 200 year old farmhouse Fruit Hill Farm, is unfortunately not large enough for 22 people! To solve this problem, we included the house up the drive from us and created The Nest and The Guest House. This is a special retreat, that can house 1 person or 22 people if all 3 homes are rented. This is a four acre midwest retreat, that we have restored and created gardens for the past 30 years.
